Winter - Ice Climbing

This course aims to introduce you to winter climbing or help develop your skills and progress if you've already done a bit. No winter climbing experience is necessary but ideally you will have some winter experience, some rock climbing experience and be physically fit and ready for adventure! From our base in Fort William, we aim to use a variety of venues such as Glencoe and Ben Nevis where we will take in some of the best and classic routes Scotland has to offer, from grades I - III, and possibly IV! Our objectives for the course look at rope work, belay techniques, using 2 axes, guidebook use, route choice, what to carry, using ice screws, movement coaching and, of course, climbing some routes!
